The name Soyaya means love and affection in his native language of Hausa in West Africa. The music of Soyaya is a combination of Palmwine and Highlife, and is the indigenous rhythm and blues. Mohammed has played with other well-known African artists such as O.J.Ekemode and the Nigerian Allstars the original Afro Beat master/ Tony Allen of Fela Kuti's band/ Shakata Ghana band/ I.K.Diaro the master of juju music of Nigeria/ Baba Olatunji the master drumer from Nigeria and lot more. The show will be up from April 8 – 15th and will then move to Cascadia Community College, Saturday, April 15th – May 1. CCC Opening Ceremony Tuesday, April 18th, 4 – 6PM.
