Solutionary Perspectives: Rural Communities & Rural Organizing

Our guests are Lorette Picciano, Executive Director of Rural Coalition and Amanda Brozana-Rios, Director of Development and Communications for National Grange. They discuss their organizations' rolls in working with rural communities and rural issues, and how Solutionary Rail can work in concert with these communities for an infrastructure and economy that supports everyone and the planet. 

Lorette Picciano has served as Executive Director of the Rural Coalition/Coalición Rural, a Washington, DC-based alliance of more than 70 culturally diverse community based organizations representing small producers and farmworkers in the US and Mexico, since 1992. She works with the RC’s diverse Board and members to promote just and sustainable development in rural areas and participated in her 8th Farm Bill Debate.

Amanda Leigh Brozana-Rios is the Director of Communications and Development for the National Grange. She lives in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.

Amanda served from 2015-16 as National Lecturer and is an active member in Potomac Grange #1, Washington, D.C. She has helped charter two community Granges and previously assisted with membership and leadership development activities of the National Grange.
