WSDOT Open House - Comment Period Extended to Feb 16th, 2026

To our SR friends in Washington State (as well as Idaho and Oregon), we ask that you take a few minutes to support our recommendations for Lower Snake River Transportation by going to the WSDOT Online Open House. The deadline for commenting was extended to Monday, Feb 16th.

Tell WSDOT that you support Scenario 7. A Take Action guide has been prepared by coalition allies that succinctly explains how to communicate your support for a resilient, sustainable, and connected rail alternative. Link to the WSDOT Online Open House HERE

For Question #1 - Changes in Annual Train Volume, please scroll down this page and enter your comment:

"I support the expansion of rail infrastructure in Eastern Washington. The projected change in train volumes is a positive development for the state. Expanding rail capacity is essential because it expands safety, improves freight mobility, and significantly reduces carbon emissions compared to current operations."

For Question #2 - Changes in Peak Daily Trucks, please scroll down this page and enter your comment:

"I strongly support Scenario 7. The data shows that shifting to this model results in a reduction of over 18 million truck miles per year. This is a huge benefit to the region by reducing carbon emissions, pollution, and wear and tear on roads."

(When answering each question, be sure to hit SUBMIT.)

The Solutionary Rail Team is extremely proud of our work on the Lower Snake River Transportation Plan and is grateful that WSDOT is basing its Scenario 6 and 7 on the extensive research we have done. We wholeheartedly support Scenario 7!
