It's hard to believe that June is just a few days away! In advance of our next Hive call, we would like to call two things to your attention.

First.

As you may know, Solutionary Rail co-hosted a rally and press event at the WA Capitol with other members of the Rail Can't Wait campaign on May 14. The fight to make WSDOT Finish the Job on the Amtrak Cascades is not over. We would like to discuss strategies for holding WSDOT accountable as we move forward. If you have 10 minutes, please take a look at this slide deck prepared by 350 Seattle's Brandon Bowersox-Johnson. We are thinking it may enable a campaign of in-person and virtual presentations to the public.

Second.

The U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) recently released a Request for Information (RFI). They are seeking input for a National Multimodal Freight Network (NMFN), which they are authorized to designate and develop under the Obama-era Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act and more recently under the Biden administration's Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL). The deadline for comments is June 11, 2024. 

We would like to hear your input on what USDOT should prioritize or take into consideration in its planning. If you have time, please look over the document linked above, and come prepared to share your insights.
