Our Message?

• Don't downsize the vision and purpose of the Amtrak Cascades, our passenger rail system connecting 14 towns and cities from Portland to Seattle to Vancouver, B.C.

• Add sections of 110 mph higher speed track just for passenger trains -- essential for fast, frequent, reliable service that will draw people out of their cars and off congested highways.

• We need trip times of 2.5 hours between SEA-PDX and 2.7 hours between SEA-VBC.

• Upgrade Amtrak Cascades so train travel is truly competitive with cars and short-distance flights -- and provide energy-efficient transportation for people who don't drive!
