HB2092 - Passenger Rail Advisory Committee

Substitute House Bill 2092 - establishing a passenger rail advisory committee - was approved in Washington State House Transportation Committee Executive Session (on Feb. 9), and headed to House Rules Committee.

As passenger rail advocates, our next task is to have House Rules pull it to the floor calendar so the entire House can vote to approve it.

If you have a Representative on House Rules (Roster of 2026 House Rules Members with Emails), this is a good time to ask that Rep. to bring 2092 to the floor calendar for a vote.

A one pager, developed by the Rail Can't Wait Coalition, explains the bill and is available HERE.
The Rules roster includes passenger rail allies such as Rep. Leavitt (28th), Rep. Farivar (46th), Rep. Fitzgibbon (34th), Rep. Ramel (40th), Rep. Davis (32nd), and Rep. Timmons (42nd).  The cut-off for bills to pass out of the chamber of origin is Tue. Feb. 17.

The bill in its approved form is 2092 PSHB (H-3310.3) Adopted (https://app.leg.wa.gov/committeeschedules/Home/Document/296007#toolbar=0&navpanes=0), found in the House Transportation Feb. 9 committee materials link under the HB 2092 >  Amds/Proposed Subs headings.  There should soon be a "substitute bill" link under the Bill Documents heading on the 2092 info page.

Time for the Rules "full court press" to get 2092 to the House floor!
